An official memo from the director of the Personnel Section of the UkhtPechLag, Smirnov, to the director of OGPU Industry No.2, dated February, 1933. It contains an explanation for the detention in the camp of the internal exile (released prisoner) Tat’iana Iosifovna Blumberg and also the general rules for changes in the place of exile for released prisoners. The document is kept in the Museum of the History of Vodnyi. It was transferred from the archive of the “Progress” Electro-ceramic factory in Ukhta, the successor to the Radium Industry. Description of exhibitTypewritten, original, signature – autograph, resolution – autograph. Single-sheet document on a sheet of paper with a stamp in one corner (the stamp is in purple ink): "Upravlenie Ukhto-Pechorskim ispravitel’no-trudovym lagerem” [“Administration of the Ukhta-Pechora Corrective Labour Camp”]. The date: February, 1933” (the day of the month is not stated), place: Chib’iu, Komi oblast’, outgoing No.”63299” – all typed. Below that is the signature of the director of the Personnel Section of the UkhtPechLag, Smirnov, in purple ink. Below that is a resolution by the director of the Industry, in red ink: “Soobshchit’, shto neobkhodima” [“Report that it is essential”], signature and the date: “11/II”. In the bottom left-hand corner is the code, in letters, of the sub-section – “IaT/SF”. In the top part of the page there is the incoming No.”7638”, in the top right-hand corner is the overprint “Lit.”A”. In the top right-hand corner the number “18” has been written in pink pencil – clearly, the page in the file.

Detailed annotationAn official memo from the director of the personnel section of the UkhtPechLag, Smirnov, to the Head of OGPU Industry No.2, dated February, 1933. It is a reply to an enquiry dated 02.02.1933, and contains explanations of how to keep an exile (a released prisoner), Tat’iana Iosifovna Blumberg in the camp. In the event of there being a production requirement, it is permitted to leave her in the camp as a voluntary worker. It also features explanations of the general regulations for changing the location of exile for released prisoners. The Document was transferred to the Museum from the archive of the “Progress” Factory, successor to the Radium Industry.
