Museum exhibit /Bedspread
Bedspread with lace insets. 1950s. Made by Elena lginaite-Miežetienė in exile in Krasnoyarsk Krai. It is kept in the Priekule Museum of Exile and the Struggle for Freedom (Priekule, Lithuanian Republic). Given to the Museum by Elena lginaite-Miežetienė in 2006 (Photo 2010). Description of exhibit | A bedspread made of white linen with embroidered needlepoint lace. In the centre there is an oval of stylized rings, framed in a rectangle. In the bottom part there is a broad strip of delicate open work. There is a lace finish along the edge on three sides. |
State of preservation | There are small, brown stains in the top part. |
Detailed annotation | A bedspread with lace insets. 1950s. Made by Elena lginaite-Miežetienė in exile in Krasnoyarsk Krai. In exile, Elena got married and had children. She returned to Lithuania between 1965 and 1968. The bedspread is kept in the Priekule Museum of Exile and the Struggle for Freedom (Priekule, Lithuanian Republic). It was given to the Museum by E. lginaite-Miežetienė in 2006. |
