Journal “Rūpintojelis”(“The Mourning Christ”) 1989. No.25. An unofficial Lithuanian national Catholic journal. It was published by a nun, Ada Urbonaite (Sister Benvenuta) from March, 1977, to March, 1990 – 26 issues in all. The print-run was produced on an “Era” (rotary printer). This copy is kept in the Museum of the History of the Kaunas Diocese (branch of the Kaunas Municipal Museum). (Photo 2008).

Description of exhibitProduced on an “Era” rotary printer, each copy was stapled together and then bound by hand, with a polythene dust-cover. It contains 100 pages.
 
Detailed annotationJournal “Rūpintojelis” (“The Mourning Christ”), 1989. No.25. An unofficial Lithuanian national Catholic journal. It was published by a nun, Ada Urbonaite (Sister Benvenuta) from March, 1977, to March, 1990. Each issue comprised 60-70 typewritten pages, with a print-run of 50 copies. In all 26 issues were produced. Original articles and leaders were published on the subjects of history, philosophy and theology; there were letters from prison, sermons, and reports on religious life in Lithuania and abroad. More than 60 authors contributed to the journal. It was one of the first journals to publish the text and a facsimile of the Act of Independence of 16.02.1918 and documents relating to the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact.
