Group photograph of the directors of the Administration of the Bogoslovskii Corrective Labour Camp, taken on 08.08.1942 in the settlement of Turinskie Rudniki (the Turinsk Mines) in the Serov Region of Sverdlovsk oblast’. Second on the left in the front row is Mikhail Ivanovich Den’gin (1904-1949). The photograph is kept in the family collection of V.M. Den’gin and a photocopy is in the Segezha Municipal Museum Centre.

Description of exhibitA black-and-white picture of a group of 14, with a log-built building in the background. The people are seated and standing in two rows. The front row (seated on a bench) is comprised of three men and three women. The men are seated in the centre, wearing soldiers’ summer blouses, dark-coloured riding-breeches and high boots; they have service-caps on their heads and tabs sewn onto the collars of their blouses. The last man on the right is wearing round glasses. The second row (standing behind the front row) consists of seven women and one man. The man is wearing a soldiers’ blouse with tabs on the collar and a service-cap. All the women are in civilian dresses. In the bottom right-hand section of the photograph there is an inscription in white ink “BAZ. 8/VIII – 48”.

Detailed annotationGroup photograph of the directors of the Administration of the Bogoslovskii Corrective Labour Camp, taken on 08.08.1942 in the settlement of Turinskie Rudniki (the Turinsk Mines) in the Serov Region of Sverdlovsk oblast’. One person among those depicted is known by name: Mikhail Ivanovich Den’gin (1904-1949; second on the left in the front row). The Museum holds a copy of the picture. The original was given on temporary loan by V.M. Den’gin, the son of M.I. Den’gin who lives in Segezha, to be shown in the exhibition “Chastnyi vzgliad na istoriiu: po stranitsam semeinykh arkhivov” [“A personal look at history: through the pages of the family archives”]. After the end of the exhibition, all the original materials were returned to the owner, but, with the owner’s permission, photocopies were made. The original, along with other personal documents and photographs of M.I. Den’gin, is kept in the family
