Home-made coat hanger. 1940s-1950s, USVITL (Administration of the North East Corrective Labour Camps). Found in 2006 on the territory of the Verkhnii Kanion (Upper Canyon) (Srednekansk Region of Magadan oblast'), a former sub-section of the Administration of the USVITL, during an expedition organized by the State Museum of the History of the GULAG. It is on display in a permanent exhibition in the Museum.

Detailed annotationA home-made coat hanger. 1940s to 1950s. USVITL (Administration of the North East Corrective Labour Camps). Made from wire. It was found by O.B. Kalmykov in 2006 during an expedition organized by the State Museum for the History of the Gulag on the territory of the Verkhnii Kanion (Upper Canyon) Srednekansk Region of Magadan oblast') – a former sub-section of the USVITL. It is displayed in a permanent exhibition in the Museum.
