The drawing shows figures reclining side by side on 'trestle' type boards, sleeping in a windowless room. In the top right-hand corner is written "Night-time in Cellar No. 1"

Paper thin, yellowed, creased, there are yellow patches and there is a tear in the top edge.

Given by N.N. Lansere. According to the owner's testimony, the drawing was executed by her father, Nikolai Evgenevich Lansere, during his imprisonment in the Cheka prison in Rostov-on-Don.
