The painting shows two armed and uniformed men sitting on a bench by a staircase leading upwards. Next to them is a man in black civilian clothes. The faces are not clearly shown. On the back of the drawing is written in N.E. Lansere's handwriting, "My first night on Shpalernaia Street" and the date "5th March 1931."
Легенда
Given by N.N. Lansere. According to the owner's testimony, the drawing was executed by her father, Nikolai Evgenevich Lansere, during his detainment in the OGPU internal prison on Shpalernaia street in Leningrad, after his first arrest.
